Gluten-free bread in a bread machine!

As you probably know you have to take out a small loan to by loaves of gluten-free bread for your whole family.  (There are six of us, still not sure how that happened.)  Udi’s is our personal favorite.  But I have been wanting to give it a try in a bread maker.  Only problem is, I didn’t own one… until today!  I was in the Goodwill and found a Sunbeam Bread Machine in prefect condition for $15.  I am going to fire it up tomorrow and see what I can come up with.  I am including a link to my favorite GF blog that has a great posting about GF bread machine making!

The Gluten-free Bible

We are very fortunate in Whatcom County to have as many Gluten-free options as we do.  Everyday I am finding something new at a grocery store or restaurant.  One of the greatest benefits we have is the husband and wife duo Tom Malterre and Alissa Segersten.  They are the king & queen of gluten and dairy-free diets.  They have written an amazing book that has helped us tremendously, especially in the beginning when I was freaking out thinking all we could eat was carrots and avocados.  The book is called “The Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook.”  It has so much great information and over 200 gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free recipes. (And they taste delightful!)  If you are thinking about going gluten-free or already are you must own this book.  It walks you through a whole food diet, talks about organics, shopping, cooking equipment and tons of recipes from breakfast to dessert.  It truly is our GF & DF Bible.  It can be purchased locally at The Food Co-op in Bellingham or on Amazon!
